I don't think it's a server-side permission problem, since I can log in with the same credentials from both the Windows machine and Thunar and browse everything just fine. I see the Pi hostname, I can browse the shares of the pi (1 at the moment, but at one point tried to share two others and I was able to see them too) but can't open them.Įverything works fine if I enable guest access on the Samba share (which I don't want to permanently), so I guess there is something wrong with the authentification process. But when using VLC or other programs to open file, gvfs-smb is not optimal, so I wanted to switch to smbnetfs. Also, I can access it through Thunar from the Arch laptop w/o problems thanks to the gvfs-smb. It's configured not to allow guests and is working as intended with the Windows machine.
